It's estimated that over 75,000 businesses worldwide now accept bitcoins (BTC/XBT) for products and services, and the numbers are growing fast! Below I've listed some of my favorites, as well as links to services that help you spend your bitcoins. I will do my best to keep it updated as I find the time.
If your preferred vendor isn't accepting BTC yet there's a great service called snapCard that will let you spend your BTC practically anywhere
. They do business in over 50 countries and their fees are just 2%! If you don't like the idea of involving a 3rd party in your business transactions, or if you want to help the merchant get some additional business without hassles or risk, then you should suggest they start accepting BTC by using a payment processor like BitPay
. These services have very low or no fees, and they provide tools/APIs to make integration with practically any type of business very simple. Accepting BTC this way will save them a lot of money compared to accepting payment via credit/debit cards, and they need not ever touch BTC if they don't want to!
